MEET THE FOUNDER & CEO
Katy Shapiro
Katy Shapiro is a powerhouse of bold truth, fierce determination, and unapologetic authenticity. Raised in Philadelphia by a Marine and a teacher, Katy learned early on the value of grit, resilience, and treating everyone, from the janitor to the CEO, with the same respect. Her “say it with your whole chest” energy, combined with her ability to connect deeply with audiences, makes her a force to be reckoned with on any stage or in any room.
Katy’s journey is one of reinvention and resilience. From driving tractors at an agricultural high school in Philly to building entire talent acquisition departments from scratch, she’s lived the challenges she now helps others overcome. While balancing the demands of motherhood and a full-time career, Katy earned her Master’s in Human Resources Management, proving that grit and determination can overcome even the toughest obstacles.
Her climb up the corporate ladder came with a cost. Battling inequities, “bro-code” politics, and the relentless pressure to conform, Katy found herself burned out, unhealthy, and questioning the very system she had worked so hard to succeed in. After years of navigating these challenges, she made the bold decision to leave corporate life without a clear roadmap for what was next. It was a leap of faith that allowed her to rediscover her purpose. This period of reflection, supported by her family and catalyzed by the sudden and tragic loss of her mother, reshaped her perspective on life and mission. From this defining moment, the vision for Unapologetic Ambition was born.
Today, Katy is a speaker, consultant, and coach, offering courses, workshops, and one-on-one guidance to help women overcome the very challenges she once faced. Her authenticity and relatability make her a trusted guide for women looking to make meaningful strides in their careers.
